I’m always down to try some tasty food. So, when I heard about the Garden State Chicken Wing & Dessert Festival, I knew I had to check it out. This is their first year doing this event, and I was curious to see how it would go.
Despite what the name would have you believe, this festival had more to offer than just chicken wings and desserts. Many vendors had a wide variety of food to choose from. I found beef brisket, empanadas, kettle corn, and fried rice as just a few of the foods that were offered. And of course, there were booths that served drinks, including alcohol.
My favorite vendor was MikMa Minis, a mini pancake stand. The pancakes tasted delicious, and they had multiple toppings to choose from. I also liked the wings and fries from Blaque Dawg BBQ since they had good flavor at a decent price. And I’m not the only one who thought so because the line was incredibly long.
There were some non-food booths as well. I found jewelry, 3D-printed collectibles, and sports merchandise. There was even a stand called New Jersey Isn’t Boring, which has several New Jersey-themed items.
In addition to all the booths, there was a chicken wing eating contest. People were also able to vote on which vendor had the best chicken wings.
All in all, I think this festival did well for its first year, and I had a great time. I’m hoping that they’ll be back next year with more vendors to try out. I’ll visit again if they do.
