1. Tense Resource Management
Ammo and healing items are limited, forcing you to manage almost every resource, but you still have enough tools to fight back. This creates a balance between the combat and the survival.
2. Enemies are terrifying
When playing as Grace, almost every zombie has personality and intrigue, leading to scary and tense moments. But with Leon, they're all just cannon fodder.
3. Combat that isn't just shooting
Sometimes it's truly easier to conserve bullets with grace, and as Leon, you have a powerhouse axe to use while also kicking. Grace can shove. Allowing for 2 different styles of combat involving fear and power.
4. The Hospital and Racoon City
Leon’s section delivers cold, hard action within the ruins of a destroyed city while Grace fights to stay alive in a dark hospital with flickering lights and zombified groans.
5. Stalker-Type Enemies
Grace and Leon must face enemies you can't just take down with a spray of bullets, instilling fear in both protagonists.
6. Motorcycle up a Building
Enough said, the picture says it all.
7. Weapon Upgrades Encourage Aggression
Throughout the game, for both Grace and Leon, it rewards the riskiness of their playstyles. The more you fight with Leon, the more cash you get to upgrade. The more risk for grace, the more you can nab yourself tokens from a slot machine to keep her alive.
8. Environmental Interactions
You can toss exploding barrels as Leon, allowing for powerful explosions. But for grace, it's much simpler, like pushing a zombie against a wall and watching it fall against it to run past it in a quick moment.
9. Boss Fights That Mix Fear and Skill
Bosses won't be pushovers for both. Leon deals with the moire grotesque designs, but even thoughts won't be easy to overcome for him. Grace's most dangerous boss is between the giant knife-wielding chef…or item management.
10. Stealth sections
Despite having plenty of action gun-toting sections for Leon, Grace has to stealth past massive creatures and zombies in moments when she has nothing to defend herself with. Swapping out the harsh action with something much more slow-paced for her sections.
