Introduction into Photography and Grounds For Sculpture

Hey everyone, I’m Mar! And I’m a photographer. My photography journey started when I was very little,  I was always posing  with a toy camera in hand  and always trying to capture every moment and as I got older I was given the camera that basically started it  all, which is the cannon camera rebel t6. I have two separate lenses for this camera, one that came with it and then an additional one to capture things at an even further distance! I personally love this camera, I’ve had it for 8 years now. This is a great camera for anyone who is just starting out in the photography world. It has about 14 different separate ways(setting tools I would call it) depending on what you're photographing. There's a dial on the top and you change the setting such as video. There's also a landscape section, aperture, shutter speed, scene intelligence, portrait, sports mode, food, night version. This camera has all the basics you need. The settings are fairly easy to navigate, and it's very easy to shoot, there's a button on the top and it's just a click. The best part is the lens is adjustable and you turn it a smidge and it focuses the image perfectly.

I wanted to start this blog  to build an environment where photographers who are just starting out could find a space where they can feel connected and to not just feel so alone. I wanted to be a place where they can ask questions. Create ideas and to share  new places, and the  cameras everyone is using and suggestions.

One of the places I would actually like to talk about first is one of my all-time favorite Grounds For Sculpture. Personally, I feel like this is a great way to start portrait photography and also nature photography. This sculpture ground is located in Hamilton, New Jersey and is outdoors. Personally to me it’s basically like all the paintings we’ve ever known blown up into sculpture form and I think that’s pretty cool. There are so many opportunities in this environment. You do need to purchase tickets either online or when you get there. The park also has a cafe and a restaurant. Grounds for sculpture often have events for the different seasons. It's open all year around, so you can capture all the seasons in every photo. I had recently gone back a few weeks ago after not going for a little bit and it still makes me happy going. It just feels so peaceful. I highly recommend this place as a starting ground. I like practicing both my portrait and landscape photography here, I feel every-time I come back here I improve a lot and I learn new techniques along the way. The sculptures are so life like that it is an amazing opportunity.

Fun fact if it is sunny set your aperture on your camera to f16, its called the sunny 16 rule!

I hope you all follow along on this journey!
