FroMan's Review of Red Bank!(Like my article, follow my account!)
Red Bank New Jersey or as I like to call it the salaryman's Hoboken. Not saying that to discredit the place, far from it. I love Red Bank from the bottom of my heart and think of it that way because its a little ritzy but doesn't cost an arm and a leg to get a cup of coffee. As Asbury was an old car with a fresh paint job Red Bank is the real deal beautiful, safe, and moderately priced. Most viewed Asbury as a summer only city, but Red Bank is the opposite for me. I often don't find my self going there in the summer mostly opting for the winter so this was a nostalgic trip going around the town.
So my rating system is a little more unconventional then other systems. I have 5 categories adding up to the lump sum of 25. With 25 meaning its great and 0 meaning its boo boo water. The categories consist of Stability; that covers how safe an area is and if your likely to get stabbed there, Parkability; how easy it is to find parking there, Eatability; how many / how good are the food spots there, Cheapability; if your average joe can go there and not spend an arm and a leg because the area is for the upper crust, and finally Dateability; how nice it would be to go on a date there. All of these are taken into account for the Shore Score!
Stability: /5/5 Organs left in tact
Red Bank is a safe and quiet picture esc town. I've never had a moment were I thought my life was at risk but that seems a little boring to me. Although im white I do like a little spice, but I can understand peoples reluctance to get shanked and can enjoy the safeness. It has a crime rate off 1.64 per 1000 residents, I have no clue what that means but thats what google said and it sounds good.
Parkability: 5/5 spots aren't filled
The parking in Red Bank is phenomenal there are a few parking lots and even the spots on the main road are often open for the taking. In addition to being redly available they are also cheap and free at certain times.
Eatability: 4/5 Non expensive restaurants
There are a few upper scale places in Red Bank but i'm poor and never been to them so i'm not sure if there good. That being said I am going to focus on some good and cheaper options. Cluck U is a small chain chicken place. Think Los Pollo's in real life, it can get a little pricey but its well worth it. Its claim to fame is there 911 hot wing challenge. Ill tell you there so spicy they can burn through a diamond. One time I dipped my pinky in a cup of 911 sauce and it felt like little boy and fat man had a dance party in my mouth. There's also this classic and good jersey pizza place called MR Slice, good affordable, and a little dingy like every good pizza shop should be.
Cheapability: 4/5 Bucks left in your wallet
Red Bank can make you break the wallet but you can also do a lot of stuff for cheap. One of my favorite places to visit is Jay and Silent Bob's secret stash. It's a great place to visit if your a Clerks or comic book fan alike. I don't want to spoil whats inside to much because I encourage people check it out but there's some seriously cool shit in there and I heard Jesus hangs around there some times.
Dateability: 5/5 Good dates
My all time favorite place in Red Bank hands down has to be Yestercades. Its cheap and fun and makes an incredible date spot. With an hourly rate of 10 bucks or a day pass for 25 you get access to a retro arcade with every old machine you can think of. From Donkey Kong, to Street Fighter, and even NBA Jam. Not to mention they also have almost every console ever made with most of there said libraries, with every game at your finger tips.
Shore Score: 23/25
Red Bank hands down is one of the most breath taking towns in all of jersey. Its quiet and calm with no need to lock in or clench your purse. Either a date night, boys night, or somewhere to take your mind of things Red Bank has something for each of those occasions. Its a place I find my self returning to year after year and never getting bored. I truly believe its a must visit destination and one that will bring fond memories years down the line.
