Capturing the Game

When most people watch a basketball game, they are watching the score who got the most points who dunking who winning but when you behind the camera you are looking at something different you are looking for the feeling in the game the energy the moment you can't repeat

Sports photography not just taking pictures it like learning how to catch something before it even happen you standing on the court or the sideline your knees hurt sometimes your back hurt. The gym is loud the floor shaking but you still locked in because you are waiting for that one shot.

doing this taught me stuff outside of basketball too it taught me patience cause you blink one time and the moment gone it taught me timing not just with the camera but with people when to speak when to stay quiet when to move when to chill and it taught me to appreciate how much effort players put in even if it only show up in one highlight

the best pictures not always the dunk or the layup sometimes the best ones is the huddle before the game when everybody quiet or that look a player get before shooting a free throw or when the bench go crazy for they teammate those moments show heart not just skill

if you want to start doing sports photography just show up go to school games go to rec games go anywhere people hooping or playing don't wait for nobody to call you your camera dont make your work good your eyes do.
