Balancing School, Work, and a Photography Side Hustle

Doing school, work, and photography at the same time isn’t easy, but that’s honestly just how my life is right now. I work overnight, go to class during the day, and still try to fit in shoots, editing, and client stuff whenever I can. It gets stressful sometimes, but I’ve learned how to juggle it without completely crashing.

One thing that really helps me is keeping things simple. I don’t make a crazy schedule. I just know what I gotta do for the day. If I have a shoot coming up, I charge my gear the night before. If I know I’ll be dead tired after work, I try to do my assignments earlier in the week instead of last minute. Little things like that keep me from falling behind.

I also use the small breaks I get. Sometimes I edit during downtime. Sometimes I do homework right after class so it’s out of the way. Even when I’m tired, I remind myself why I’m doing all this. Photography doesn’t feel like work to me. It’s the thing that makes the long nights and the busy schedule worth it.

Having a side hustle teaches you a lot without you even noticing. You learn how to deal with people, stay organized, and keep pushing even when you’re tired. Balancing everything isn’t perfect, but it’s possible when you stay consistent and actually love what you’re doing.
